At the Coalition for Dialogue and Negotiations, we recognize that knowledge is one of the most powerful tools in addressing conflict effectively. While many of Africa’s conflicts receive fleeting global attention, there remains a significant gap in understanding their root causes, evolving dynamics, and long-term implications. To confront these challenges, we focus on producing targeted, strategic knowledge while also applying it through meaningful, context-specific conflict resolution strategies. Our commitment to peace extends beyond the Southern Cameroons as we broaden our scope to neglected conflicts across the continent.
This work centers around two key areas:
Research and Knowledge Sharing on Conflicts in Africa
We focus on producing reliable, evidence-based research about ongoing, often overlooked conflicts across Africa. This research helps guide strategy, inform policy decisions, and support programs to end these conflicts through peaceful negotiation. Understanding the root causes, key players, and broader social, economic, and political impacts is essential to developing lasting solutions.
Promoting Dialogue and Negotiation
We actively support efforts to create space for dialogue and negotiation to resolve long-standing conflicts, such as the one in Southern Cameroons. These processes offer a practical path to achieving fair and lasting solutions while reducing the risk of future violence. Dialogue brings stakeholders together to find common ground and move forward in peace.
